These colorful teenagers played traditional Thai instruments to begin the ceremony.
Guy on the left is one of the flag carriers. Guy on the right does something with a sword.
Don't know what these smiling folks did, but they were quite friendly.
Grounds are being kept emaculate. Even the dirt gets swept!
Participants finally started getting ready. I thought we might see the show.

The ceremony was almost beginning by the time we had to leave...
...and sit in a taxi for almost two hours
and then a hotel lobby for another hour.
There's plenty of security there, but not much for them to do, except play with the Asiad computers.
I wonder if elephants have as much trouble with Bangkok traffic as the rest of us.
